ALPHARETTA, Ga -- Alpharetta Police released a dash cam video of the arrest of Nick Gordon. The arrest happened six hours after his former fiancée Bobbi Kristina Houston wrecked her car in Alpharetta.
Bobbi Kristina is the daughter of Whitney Houston. Gordon is her adoptive brother.
Gordon was caught speeding on North Point Parkway near North Point Mall. An officer running laser detection clocked him at 82 MPH in a 35 MPH zone. "There was no indication of drugs or alcohol but the danger of that particular incident lies in the fact of 82 MPH in a very busy area within our city," said George Gordon of the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety.
The video from the officer's patrol car shows the arrest after Gordon pulled into a shopping center parking lot. On the video you can hear music blaring from the Camaro Gordon was driving.
As the officer walks up to the car, the music stops, then starts again with a very familiar song. It was Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You."
As sweet as the song is it didn't soften the blow for Gordon. He was charged with reckless driving, a misdemeanor, and speeding. He didn't seem pleased with the arrest. "Is there any way I can not go to jail," Gordon asked the officer. "Not for that, not for that speed," the officer responded.
