HULL, Ga. -- People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of whoever left severed dog heads on a North Georgia family's porch.
The heads were placed on the porch of a home in Hull, outside Athens, on Nov. 23 and 24.
Police have not yet named a suspect.

"Animal abusers are cowards. They take their issues out on the most defenseless beings available to them," PETA director Martin Mersereau said in a statement. "Area residents have good reason to be concerned ... perpetrators of violent acts against animals are often repeat offenders who pose a serious threat to all animals -- including humans."
