CUMMING, Ga. -- An accident involving two vehicles left one dead and injured others around 4:00 p.m. in Cumming.
According to the Forsyth County Fire Department, the accident happened on near the entrance to Hendrix Place subdivision on Hendrix Road, just off Highway 369.
A North Forsyth High School junior died in the first vehicle. The other teen, also a junior at NFHS, was critically injured and transported to North Fulton Hospital.
In the second vehicle, an 18-year-old female senior at NFHS suffered minor injuries and was also taken to North Fulton Hospital. Three children were also in that vehicle, and taken to Scottish Rite to be treated for minor injuries. A Cumming Elementary School staff member in the second vehicle was not injured.
The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident.
NFHS had counselors and staff on hand this evening and will have additional counselors tomorrow for students.
The Student Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) will be leading Prayer at the flag pole Tuesday morning at 8am at NFHS.
