DULUTH, Ga. -- All lanes of Interstate 85 have reopened after wreckage from an overturned tractor-trailer was moved from the middle of the roadway.
The overturned tractor trailer and diesel spill had blocked lanes of Interstate 85 northbound at Georgia 316 in Gwinnett County shortly before 9 a.m.
Georgia Department of Transportation officials say the tractor trailer was carrying 46,000 pounds of concrete slabs.
According to GDOT, a section of damaged asphalt had to be removed and replaced before it could open to traffic.
Motorists heading southbound on I-85 can take Satellite Boulevard as an alternate. For drivers trying to get to GA 316, GA 120 is an alternative.
