STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. -- Lee Stuart, the former mayor of Stockbridge, is expected to plead no contest to a misdemeanor charge in Fulton County Superior Court Tuesday.
Stuart was voted out of office by the Stockbridge City Council last week. The vote was the result of an in-depth investigation into allegations that Stuart misused city funds and created a hostile work environment.

Tuesday's court appearance is for a charge of unprofessional conduct by a public officer. Fulton County District Attorney's spokesperson Yvette Jones said it stems from a January 2011 incident where Stuart secretly recorded a mediation session with representatives from the city of Stockbridge against whom he filed a lawsuit over his power as the mayor.
Jones said Stuart is expected to be sentenced to 12 months' probation and ordered to pay a $1,000 fine and $5,000 restitution, according to terms of his plea agreement.
