ATLANTA -- A man accused of murdering an Atlanta resident earlier this year has been arrested in South Carolina.
The U.S. Marshals announced Jeremy Woods' arrest Thursday.
Woods is accused of killing Kentavious Ballard on Aug. 19.
U.S. Marshals spokesman Jim Joyner said investigators determined Woods was staying with his mother in Aiken. After surveying the area around Woods' mother's house, members of the U.S. Marshals task force moved in and arrested the suspect.
Woods is being held int he Aiken County Jail awaiting extradition to Atlanta.
Joyner said investigators from the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Atlanta Police Department assisted with Woods' arrest.
