ATLANTA -- The doors opened at 10am and within the hour a line was forming outside the Georgia World Congress Center for the Hosea Feed the Hungry Christmas dinner.

Volunteers greeted and served homeless men and women along with a growing number of families who have housing, but are struggling to make ends meet.

CEO Elisabeth Omilami walked from table to table giving hugs and handing out Christmas candy.

"It used to be that we helped primarily single men.  Now we have entire families and women with children we serve," said Omilami.

In addition to food, volunteers staffed two medical clinics.  Others offered free showers and hair washing.

An estimated 6,000 guests were served and volunteers delivered approximately 4,000 meals to needy families in homes.
