DORAVILLE, Ga.-- DeKalb County authorities said no one was injured in an apartment fire Monday night at Windchase Apartments in Doraville.
DeKalb dispatch received calls about the fire at 3691 Shallowford Road just before 9:00 p.m. When crews arrived, they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the roof of one of the buildings in the complex.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading to other buildings, but they said the building is uninhabitable due to extensive fire, smoke, and water damage.
Officials are investigating what caused the fire.
Initial reports from the department said that 25 people were displaced in the 10-unit building. The Red Cross has been called in to assist them.
