ATLANTA -- A man was fatally shot in the chest Tuesday morning in Southwest Atlanta.
According to Atlanta Police Officer K.Y. Jones, officers were called to Epworth Street at around 9:15 a.m. and found the man in a house near the Rev. James Orange Park at Oakland City.
"Witnesses indicated that the victim had been in an argument with another male outside of this location when the other male pulled and gun and shot him," Jones said in a statement.
She said the man was concious but not alert when he was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, but later died.
He was the city's first homicide victim of the new year. His name has not been released. No arrests have been made.
