MARIETTA, Ga. -- Two metro Atlanta courthouses have been deemed safe after being the subjects of a bomb threat Wednesday morning.
Cobb County Sheriff's spokeswoman Nancy Bodiford said Cobb County 911 received a call at around 10:20 a.m. stating that bombs were buried outside the courthouses in Cherokee and Cobb counties.
Investigators and detection dogs searched both courthouses. Cherokee County Sheriff's Lt. Jay Baker said a foreclosure sale on the steps of the Cherokee County Justice Center was disrupted for the investigation, but the center was never evacuated.
Both courthouses were given the all clear at around 12 p.m.
