ATLANTA -- Local Vendors Coalition inked a deal to get fresh Georgia-grown vegetables at the Whole Foods Market in Buckhead starting Jan. 5.
Local Vendors Coalition, an Atlanta-based marketing association, handles the logistics of getting farmers market-quality produce into grocery chains, restaurants and other buyers. Farmers join Local Vendors Coalition for a monthly fee and the coalition connects the sellers and the buyers. The organization is a member of the Georgia Department of Agriculture's Georgia Grown program.
Whole Foods Market Buckhead is at 77 West Paces Ferry Rd.
"Whole Foods shares our goal of providing fresh, quality products with the convenience of shopping at your local grocery store," said Local Vendors Coalition President Matt Granados, in a statement. "The relationship between Whole Foods and Local Vendors Coalition is a plus for everyone. We are helping Georgia farmers find local markets and helping customers find the fresh, locally grown produce they want."
