WALTON COUNTY, Ga. -- Walton County deputies arrested a man who allegedly robbed a home in Walton County on Friday afternoon.
According to Walton County Sheriff's Office Chief Keith Brooks, Paul Slater of Gwinnett County tried to burglarize a home on Henderson Ridge Lane in Loganville around noon, when deputies responded.
Slater forced entry into the home's front door, and soon found the homeowner in a room on the second floor. The homeowner shot the suspect with her handgun, then Slater fled in a vehicle and crashed while in the subdivision.
At that time, Brooks said the homeowner was together with her children, but he did not have further information on their ages.
Brooks said the suspect was hit by the gunfire, and was taken to Gwinnett Medical. His condition was unknown.
