MARIETTA, Ga. -- Hundreds of people spent Saturday morning waiting to get into a Marietta gun show, amid concerns the nation's firearm laws will soon change.
The line at the Eastman Gun show looped around the Cobb County Civic Center and down the sidewalk. People told 11Alive it was the biggest crowd they've ever seen at a gun show, and they estimated about a thousand people were waiting to get inside the building at one point.
Officials across the nation have reported a surge in gun sales in the wake of the school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut. Following the shooting, President Barack Obama announced he was forming a task force to recommend changes to curb gun violence.
