DUNWOODY, Ga. -- Dunwoody Police detectives have made one arrest and secured a search warrant from an armed robbery that happened at a McDonald's restaurant during the early hours of Monday, January 7.
According to Sgt. Michael Carlson of the Dunwoody Police Department, police arrested 19-year-old College Park resident Carlin Caleb Tibbs. They have also issued a search warrant for Dejuan Anthony Simmons, 19, of Sandy Springs.
As Carlson reported on Monday, an armed robbery was reported just after 4:00 a.m. that morning at the McDonald's at 4540 Ashford Dunwoody Road.
Carlson said Tibbs was driving a dark-colored sedan, and had stopped at the drive-thru window, and was placing an order. Two suspects, one identified as Simmons, ran from behind the building toward the service window.
From the driver seat, Tibbs pointed a pistol at the drive-thru worker. Then, the other two suspects jumped through the window and took an unknown amount of cash.
Police have not identified the third person involved, and consider Simmons to be armed and dangerous.
The first suspect who entered the store was described as a black male in his early 20's, standing 5'06" - 5'08" tall, weighing 150 - 175 pounds. He wore a dark ski mask, black hooded jacket, white gloves, black pants and light-colored shoes.
The second suspect was also described as a black male, around 5'08" - 5'10" tall with a skinny build, wearing a dark hooded jacket, dark ski mask, white gloves, dark gray pants and dark shoes. He carried a green and black gym bag.
At the time of the incident, the driver of the sedan was a person of interest, as Carlson reported.
Anyone with further information on the whereabouts of Simmons, the robbery, or the third suspect is asked to contact Detective Ronny Delima at (678) 382-6914.
