LEWISVILLE, TX (KXAS) -- An explosion has destroyed a home behind the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church of God in Lewisville, Texas, just north of Fort Worth.

Debris of the home are covering the roadway in the 500 block of E. Main Street in Lewisville. The road has been shut down as emergency crews work near the scene.

Crews are putting out hot spots at the location of the explosion.

Lewisville Fire Department confirmed there are injuries, but they did not provide specifics at the time of publishing.

Emergency personnel are requesting that businesses around the area be evacuated until the situation is contained.

Fire crews from Lewisville, The Colony, and Carrollton are assisting.

The reported location of the explosion was the site of a gas leak reported two hours ago when a construction crew hit a gas line.

Emergency crews at that time told Dallas NBC station KXAS they had the issue under control and no evacuations were necessary.
