DALTON, Ga. -- A small earthquake struck northwest Georgia Tuesday evening.
The quake hit at 7:39 p.m. about four miles northwest of Dalton.
The U.S. Geological Survey reports that it was a 2.9-magnitude earthquake.
Dalton Police spokesman Bruce Frazier said he wasn't aware of any reports of damage in the city.
