ATLANTA -- A massive project to find a cure for cancer is kicking off this spring, and Atlanta has the largest push for volunteers in the nation.
The Cancer Prevention Study 3 (CPS 3) will study 300,000 people in hopes of finding a cure.
They want 5,000 volunteers around metro Atlanta to be studied.
The first study was a few generations ago and found the link between smoking and cancer. CPS 2 found links between obesity and cancer.
If you volunteer, you will fill have blood drawn, your waist measured and fill out a questionnaire. Then you'll fill out another questionnaire every three years or so for the next 20 to 30 years.
