Lowe's hiring 54,000 workers

ATLANTA -- Spring is Lowe's busiest time of year. The home improvement retailer is getting ready by hiring 54,000 employees across the country.

Most of those positions will be seasonal, but 9,000 of them will be permanent part-time positions, according to the company.

"The permanent part-time positions include store associates focused on direct interaction and expertise for customers," Lowe's spokeswoman Karen Cobb said in a statement. "Seasonal jobs available are focused on customer support and include cashiers, lawn and garden specialists, loaders, and stockers."

Cobb said seasonal work typically runs from February through September and ranges between 20 to 25 hours per week.
