ATLANTA -- There is a winter weather advisory in effect for Saturday and Sunday morning for a large part of the N. Georgia mountains.
We are watching a disturbance caught up in the jet that is going to come down in this direction and give the mountains a very good chance of seeing some accumulating snow fall this weekend!
Here is the low down: We are in an arctic outbreak right now across the eastern 2/3 of the US with most of us still in the 30's and 20's.
Parts of the US were in the single digits Friday afternoon. As this clipper style system heads down in this direction it will bring some scattered rain showers to the metro area, but at the same time it will bring accumulating snowfall to the NW facing cities in the North Georgia mountains.
This means from Ellijay to Blue Ridge to Blairsville you could get 2" Saturday night.
