Crews with the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office are searching by water and air.
CUMMING, Ga. -- Authorities called off the search for a missing fisherman on Tuesday afternoon due to inclement weather.
Search and rescue teams and a dive crew identified the missing man's fishing pole before the search was halted. Forsyth County authorities searched Lake Lanier all day Tuesday after an empty boat was found circling the lake Tuesday morning.
The boat was found near Bald Ridge Marina. Investigators say the boat belongs to a 47-year-old man who went fishing on the lake Monday night.
Searchers will resume a helicopter search at 7 a.m. Wednesday morning, will use sonar technology to locate the man at 8 a.m. and a dive team will be called in, if needed.
