MONTICELLO, Ga. -- Norton Packaging Inc. is investing $12 million in a new manufacturing operation in Jasper County that will create 90 jobs, according to the Georgia Department of Economic Development.
The Hayward, Calif.-based company broke ground Tuesday on the new facility.
Norton Packaging specializes in containers that hold a wide variety of products and will manufacture plastic injection molded rigid shipping containers at the new Monticello facility.
The company, which has been operated by the same family since it was founded in 1901, has facilities in California and Indiana. The 76,000-square-foot Georgia location will serve the Southeast region of the United States as well as Puerto Rico and Europe.
