ATLANTA -- Somehow, the old dinner date takes on new life for Valentine's Day.
At the Sundial Restaurant in Downtown Atlanta, restaurant manager Abbey Rhee said they expect 40 marriage proposals every Valentine's Day.
Waiter David Garrett has worked at the restaurant for six years. He estimates he's been involved in at least 30 proposals.
"Probably the most nerve-racking part is holding on to the ring," he said. "That's the one thing you don't want to mess up."
Local Waffle House restaurants also brought out their best for Valentine's Day, sporting tablecloths, candles and taking reservations. The tradition began five years ago in a few locations and has spread to 15 states.
