ATLANTA -- Daniel Blumen's music video is making quite the rounds, but don't expect to hear his song played on the radio.
The 12-year-old wanted to do something special to invite his friends and family to his Bar Mitzvah, so he re-created the song "Welcome to Atlanta," putting his own spin on the lyrics and shooting the video at famous spots around Atlanta.
"I wasn't exactly trying to make it big," Daniel said. "I just wanted to show it to my friends and family so we could enjoy the experience."
Like the original video, Daniel and his parents thought it would be cool to get a few celebrities involved. Before they knew it, they had a full roster. Charles Barkley, Shaquille O'Neal, Ne-Yo, Frank Ski and Mayor Kasim Reed were among those making appearances.
"It kind of was like a snowball," said Liz Price, Daniel's mom. "We got the first two people who agreed, then when we started telling people we had someone, more were willing to participate."
"When we told them about the idea, everyone was excited. We were very fortunate that people saw the fun in it."
