Today's pollen count is at 157, but on this same day last year, we were only at 2. Last year we hit record high numbers with a count of 9 thousand three hundred sixty seven. Usually tree pollen peaks in March, and grass pollen peaks in April, but this year, just like last year, those seasons are actually starting earlier.
One gentleman enjoying the nice Winter day in Piedmont Park, told us that he felt it was weird that the pollen would be so high since it's still Winter. He's also had a scratchy throat and bad runny nose because of it.
Pollen counts are expected to continue to rise for the next 2 days before some heavy rainfall arrives just in time for the weekend to help clear the air.
