THOMSON, Ga. -- All five passengers who died in a small plane crash at Thomson-McDuffie Regional Airport in East Georgia Wednesday night have been identified.

Early Friday morning, McDuffie County Coroner Foster Wiley confirmed the identities of four of those killed: vascular surgeon Dr. Steven Roth, nurse anesthetist Lisa Volpitto, secretary Kim Davidson, and ultrasound technicians Heidi McCorkle and Tiffany Porter. They all worked for The Vein Guys medical clinic in Augusta. The clinic also has an office in Buckhead.

"Our team is extremely concerned for the well-being of the families left behind and our thoughts and prayers are with them," Kell Vann, chief operating officer of the Vein Guys, said in a statement. "We continue to be deeply saddened at a loss so great."

The plane's pilot and co-pilot both survived. The pilot actually managed to walk away from the wreckage after the Hawker Beechcraft 390/Premier One jet overshot the runway, hit a 60-foot utility pole and caught fire shortly after 8 p.m. Wednesday.

"It was demolished," McDuffie County Sheriff Logan Marshall said.

"It was like a boom," said Rhonda Bouthry, who lives near the airport. She said the crash knocked the power out in her home and others for about 20 minutes.

FAA spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said the came in from John Tune Airport in Nashville and was registered to a limited liability corporation in Wilmington, Delaware.
