WATKINSVILLE, Ga. (AP) -- Authorities are investigating a crash that claimed the lives of two people in northeast Georgia.
Oconee County Chief Deputy Lee Weems said the single-vehicle crash happened Monday night on Hale Road, in the southern part of the county.
Georgia State Patrol Sgt. Tim Meyer said 36-year-old driver John Edwards of Athens and his passenger, 23-year-old Stephen Marlow of Madison, were found dead at the scene.
Few other details were available Tuesday.
Oconee County is about 60 miles east of Atlanta.
