Motorcyclist shows helmet scars after nasty accident
ATLANTA -- A pedestrian walkway on Irwin Street near the King Center may protect pedestrians, but a lack of lane striping leading up to its protruding curb, is proving dangerous for drivers.
Last month, Motorcyclist Michelle Metz failed to see the curb while riding at night, and slammed in to it, throwing her from her bike and launching her nearly 30-feet down the sidewalk.
Fortunately, she wasn't seriously injured, but her bike was totaled. From numerous scrapes and scars already on the curb, it's pretty clear that Michelle isn't the only victim.
She wanted to help alert other motorists to the issue, so she contacted 11Alive's Commuter Dude.
