ALPHARETTA, Ga. -- A construction worker was killed when a backhoe backed over him at a construction site on McGinnis Ferry Road early Wednesday afternoon.
Alpharetta Police spokesman George Gordon said 49-year-old Miguel Agirre, of Duluth, was a subcontractor for D&H Construction of Atlanta. The crew was working on a project for Fulton County Water Services to install water lines along McGinnis Ferry Road at Windward Concourse when the incident happened.
Gordon said the worker was standing directly behind the vehicle when it rolled over him.
"From all indications, this appears to be a tragic accident," Gordon said.
