WXIA -- The 11Alive Help Desk wants you to know about registration for free heart screenings for Gwinnett County students.
Simon's Fund, a Philadelphia nonprofit organization, is bringing awareness of cardiac arrest and heart failures to the children of Gwinnett. The organization will provide free heart screenings for Gwinnett county middle school and high school students.
The screenings will take place on April 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Cardiovascular Group in Lawrenceville. Doctors from the practice will conduct a 30-40 minute screening consisting of a physical, an echocardiogram and an electrocardiogram.
If necessary, doctors will refer the student to a cardiologist.
Presently, there are 300 spots available for registration. Those interested can register at simonsfund.org.
