WAYCROSS, Ga. -- More than 20 bands are scheduled to rock Waycross this weekend during the third annual Swamptown Getdown.
Organizer Dave Griffin says he's got an eclectic lineup for the two-day festival, which starts Friday night. Bands range from the bluegrass stylings of Grandpa's Cough Medicine from neighboring Florida to the crunch of the Dukes of Glynn, a Brunswick band Griffin describes as "country-death metal."
The festival is being held at the Okefenokee Fairgrounds. Another Brunswick band, Soul Gravy, will kick the festival off Friday. The concerts will resume Saturday morning and go into the wee hours Sunday.
Tickets to the Swamptown Getdown are $40.
