CARTERSVILLE, Ga. -- The Cartersville Police Department is working an accident where a two-year-old child was hit by a car Friday afternoon.
Captain Mark Camp said the child was in the front yard of a residence near Martin Luther King Drive. A person backed out of the driveway of the residence, hitting the child. The child somehow got under the vehicle during the accident.
According to Camp, the child has a severe laceration to the head, but EMS said the child is stable.
For precaution, he is being taken by air ambulance to Atlanta, most likely Children's Hospital, Camp said.
The relationship between the driver and the child is unknown at this time. Police are working to get more information.
