ATLANTA -- Atlanta's FBI office in conjunction with the Denver FBI office is looking for help from the public in identifying and finding a suspect who they said robbed 13 banks in the Denver area.
The FBI says authorities think the suspect -- who's been dubbed "The Clearinghouse Bandit" -- may have moved to Metro Atlanta.
Witnesses said the suspect was carrying what appears to be a magazine. Officials said he is a black male, 25-to-40 years old, about 6-feet to 6-foot-5-inches tall, 220 to 260 pounds with a heavy build.
The robberies are believed to have happened in Denver, Aurora and Colorado Springs between August and December, 2012.
The FBI says the suspect in each case enters the bank, presents a note demanding money and then leaving the scene.
Anyone with any information about The Clearinghouse Bandit is asked to call the FBI's Atlanta Field Office at 404-679-9000.
