NORCROSS, Ga. -- A woman jumped to safety from the back deck after her house caught fire Friday morning.
The two-story house on Black Hickory Place in Norcross caught fire shortly after 5 a.m.
Gwinnett County Fire Lt. Colin S. Rhoden said the woman was the only person home at the time. To escape the blaze, she jumped from the house's back deck.
The woman fell about 10 feet to the ground. She suffered some wrist pain and was treated at the scene, Rhoden said.
The house was heavily damaged in the blaze, according to Rhoden. The Red Cross was called in to help the family.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
