Serious wreck prompts passionate plea from emergency physician.

MARIETTA -- Three weeks ago, a 22-year old college student at the University of Alabama, Huntsville, nearly died in an auto accident on Johnson Ferry Road at Woodlawn Drive in Marietta.

Emergency Physician, Dr. Joseph Braintwain was quick to arrive on scene from his Urgent Care office located just across the street. Dr. Braintwain says the victim's condition was grave and the doctor was worried the young man would not survive a trip to the hospital.

Fortunately, paramedics were able extricate the victim from the wreckage and transport him safely to the emergency room, where he did survive. But the experience rekindled an old concern for Dr. Braintwain who says he's been asking County officials for traffic signal improvements at that intersection for at least a year.
