MARIETTA, Ga. -- A Marietta man was convicted by a Cobb County jury of child molestation on Thursday.
According to Kim Isaza of the District Attorney's Office, 34-year-old Eduardo Hernandez abused a young girl over a period of several months in 2011.
On Thursday, a jury found Isaza guilty of one count of aggravated child molestation and three counts of child molestation.
Isaza could face life plus 60 years at his sentencing on April 15.
"This defendant took advantage of a little girl living in his home. The girl is 7 now and doing well in school. The family is happy to close this chapter of their lives and move on," Cobb County Prosecutor Chuck Boring says.
"The defendant is in this country illegally and once he is done serving his prison sentence, he will be deported," Boring said.
Hernandez is being held without bond in the Cobb Jail. He has an ICE hold on his release.
