ATLANTA -- The driver of a FedEx tractor-trailer died when his truck turned over on I-285 northbound near Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway Thursday night.
Atlanta police said the FedEx truck had twin trailers when it was headed northbound about a half-mile south of Hollowell Parkway. Their report said witnesses told them the truck hit a white Nissan Maxima when it changed lanes.
Police said both vehicles hit the right guardrail and traveled into a grassy area off the roadway. The FedEx truck jackknifed and flipped, coming to a rest on its side. The driver was partially ejected from the passenger side of the truck's cab and pronounced dead at the scene. Police said he was not wearing his seat belt.
The Maxima was driven by Orji Brown. Brown was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital in downtown Atlanta with neck and back pains.
Atlanta police said they have not filed charges, and are continuing their investigation.
