ATLANTA - Earth Day is Monday April 22nd but metro Atlanta residents who want to go green don't have to wait until then to grab some great deals.
Georgia Tech is having one of the largest Earth Day celebrations in the country on Friday, April 18th. There will be free giveaways, a clothing swap, organic popcorn and other festivities. Residents can also recycle old electronics and computer equipment at Georgia Tech from 10am to 3pm in the Area 9 parking lot off of Ferst Avenue. There is a $10 charge for televisions.
Saturday at Jim Miller Park in Marietta consumers can shred old documents for free, and recycle computer equipment from 9am to 1pm. Televisions are $10 as well.
There is also free admission to National Parks in Georgia from April 20th through the 28. That includes the Chatahoochee National Recreation Area and Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park.
Sally Beauty Supply stores will give customers a $5 or $10 discount on a new hair appliance when they turn in an old one.
At H&M stores shoppers can bring in a bag of old clothing for a 15 percent discount on a new item.
