Work progressing on the Pleasant Hill Diverging Diamond interchange.
DULUTH -- Work is progressing on the Pleasant Hill Diverging Diamond interchange in Duluth. Gwinnett County D.O.T. says the new configuration will launch in late June or early July.
A Diverging Diamond interchange (or D.D.I) leads traffic to the left side of the road reducing the number of conflict points while simultaneously easing congestion.
Pleasant Hill Road will be the second D.D.I. in Georgia. The first is located on Ashford Dunwoody Road at I-285. A third Diverging Diamond is being built on Jimmy Carter Boulevard at I-85. The scheduled completion date there is 2014.
