ATLANTA, Ga. -- Several counties surrounding Atlanta are looking to hire qualified officers to patrol the streets. Many counties hire personnel on a revolving basis, while some departments are holding special recruiting events.

The Atlanta Police Department is continually looking to add new officers to their department, and will be holding recruiting events on Saturday, April 27 and Monday, April 29 beginning at 8 a.m. sharp. Before the event, applicants are expected to complete an online application. The only document needed to attend the recruiting event is a valid state driver's license.
Brookhaven Police currently has 50 positions open for patrol officers, sergeants, lieutenants and detectives to join the department by this summer. Applicants must be certified by the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council.
The DeKalb County Police Department is currently accepting applications for police officers. Cobb County Police are also routinely seeking individuals to become officers. Those who are certified and candidates with no prior law enforcement experience are encouraged to apply.
