STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. -- The 11Alive News Today morning crew received a rousing welcome when it rolled into Stockbridge Friday morning.
The morning show is hitting the road on Fridays throughout the summer, traveling to towns all across metro Atlanta. Stockbridge was the first stop on the tour.

The Henry County city is about 20 miles south of Atlanta and only 12 miles from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Several celebrities have called Henry County home, including former presidential candidate Herman Cain, Braves right fielder Jason Heyward and Minnesota Twins pitcher Kyle Davies. The rock band Collective Soul was also formed in Stockbridge.

Students from a number of schools stopped by City Hall Friday morning to chat with Karyn Greer, Ted Hall, Donna Lowry and Chesley McNeil. The NERDS step team from Pleasant Grove Elementary School performed, as did members of the Eagles Landing Dance Center. Henry County Schools is Stockbridge's biggest employer, and the district has earned national recognition for its top-notch teachers and programs.

The city is also home to several unique businesses and locations. Eagles Landing Country Club recently celebrated its 25th anniversary, Piedmont Henry Hospital has turned the county into a medical destination, and customers can learn how to brew beer and make cheese at Barley & Vine.
The morning show will hit the road again next Friday and travel to Paulding County for a live broadcast in Dallas.
