COLLEGE PARK, Ga. -- A Delta plane was rerouted at Hartsfield-Jackson after blowing an engine before takeoff on Friday afternoon.
According to a Delta Airlines spokesperson, flight 1251 experienced an engine malfunction during takeoff and the aircraft circled the airport and landed back in Atlanta, safely.
The flight was scheduled to takeoff at 4:59 p.m. ET and land at John Wayne Airport in Orange County at 6:43 p.m. PT.
After the flight landed back in Atlanta, passengers deplaned and switched planes. The new flight was scheduled to takeoff at 8 p.m. -- no word on when the plane is expected to arrive in Orange County.
