CLEVELAND -- An Ohio man accused of kidnapping three women and holding them captive for nearly a decade was arraigned Wednesday.
Ariel Castro pleaded not guilty and waived the reading of his 329 counts, including rape, kidnapping, assault and one count of aggravated murder, during the hearing.
Dressed in a prison orange jump suit, Castro kept his head down and his eyes averted during the proceeding that lasted about one minute. Castro did not speak during the court hearing and his not guilty plea was entered on his behalf by his lawyer.

The judge continued his bond at $8 million.
Castro waived the reading of the indictment. He is scheduled for a pre-trial hearing on June 19. The case has been assigned to Judge Michael Russo.
The murder charge stems from Castro allegedly starving and punching one of his victims while she was pregnant, causing her to miscarry.
