After a brief return to the 11Alive Newsroom and Ways to Save, I'm headed back for more surgery that I hope will leave me cancer free.

In the past 8 weeks I've battled an infection that didn't respond well to antibiotics and a few other minor complications.   I'm now super healthy and ready for Round Two!

I've also had to make some pretty huge decisions about various treatments and the potential outcomes.  There is a big learning curve with cancer, and I've learned a lot!

One of the great things about working in the news business is I see and hear about terrible things happening to good people all the time.   Seeing all that misfortune helps me keep breast cancer in perspective; it's not a whole lot of fun but much worse things can happen.

Thanks so much to all my co-workers and the viewers who have supported me throughout all of this.  I'm grateful for each and every gesture.   I will keep the  newsroom updated on how everything goes and will have more detailed accounts on my personal blog,

See you in about a month!  :)
