ATLANTA -- Early Sunday morning, police responded to a pedestrian robbery at Glenwood Ave.
The victim was walking home from an East Atlanta bar on Glenwood Ave when he was approached by three black males. According to the police report, one male was armed with an "AK-47 style weapon" while another had a semi-automatic handgun.
The males, described as in their early twenties, demanded the victim empty his pockets and took his cell phone. The males then demanded the victim to continue walking and to not turn around.
The victim said he did not see the suspect's vehicle, nor could he determine which direction they fled in.
The victim was not hurt during the incident. This is the latest in a string of crimes affecting the East Atlanta Village area. High profile shootings and robberies have led to more police patrols and concern from local residents.
"It makes me feel like there's really a war going on and it is," said 10-year resident JoAnn Edwards. "The neighborhood needs to get together and look out for eachother."
