MCDONOUGH, Ga. -- The lockdown has been lifted at three schools in McDonough after an armed robbery nearby on Tuesday afternoon.
Flippen Elementary, Eagle's Landing Middle and Eagle's Landing High Schools were all locked down. The lock down was lifted and students were released just before 4 p.m.
Henry County Schools spokesman J.D. Hardin said the robbery happened at the Shell gas station at the corner of Tunis and Jodeco roads.
Henry County Police Sgt. Joey Smith said the suspects fled in a Jeep Cherokee. They have not been identified.
Students were not believed to be in danger and there is no suspect on any campus, Hardin said. The lockdowns were mostly precautionary measures.
