AUSTELL, Ga. -- Six Flags Over Georgia announced a major expansion -- the largest in park history -- Thursday morning.
Park president Dale Kaetzel said plans are underway to build Hurricane Harbor, a full-size water park, on the site of the old Southern Star Amphitheatre.

The new attraction will include an 800,000 gallon wave pool, two water
slide complexes, interactive water playgrounds and other amenities,
Hurricane Harbor is scheduled to open Memorial Day weekend of 2014. Admission is free with a park ticket.
A combination season pass to Six Flags Over Georgia, Six Flags White Water and Hurricane Harbor goes on sale Friday.
