ATLANTA -- Hosea Feed the Hungry and Homeless is partnering with the Georgia Department of Labor for an unique job fair Thursday aimed at connecting job seekers with potential employers and equipping them with the skills to compete in the labor market.

"Maybe your resume needs a little tweaking to explain why there's been such a gap in employment," says Hosea CEO Elizabeth Omilami. "Those are the type of skills you'll get at Labor of Love."

The job fair runs between 9 a.m. and noon Thursday at Turner Field's Gold Lot. Job seekers are encouraged to dress professionally and bring a resume.

Georgia's job outlook continues to improve, albeit slowly. According to the state Department of Labor, the unemployment rate dipped slightly to 8.6% in July. That's down from 8.8% in June.

But Georgia's unemployment numbers still lag significantly behind the national average of 7.4%
