ATLANTA -- The driver of a scooter collided with two cars in the Druid Hills neighborhood around 2:00 Friday morning, and was killed in the crash.
It took place in the 1900 block of Ponce De Leon Avenue NE, near the intersection of Lakeshore Drive NE. A resident who lives near the scene rushed out to help, and called 911.
Ray Zuschlag told DeKalb police officers that he and his wife heard a loud crash outside.
"There's been many accidents on Ponce, right in front of our house," he said.

Zuschalg's wife ran down the driveway and as he was making the 911 call they both saw two cars along the motorcycle laying on its side.
"It was just unbelievable what had happened," Zuschalg said.
He could see the injured motorcycle driver on the ground near the bike as he called for help. Emergency crews were there caring for the driver, but he died on scene.
Since the accident, officers have reopened Ponce De Leon Avenue.

Zuschlag said that street is no stranger to traffic accidents and speeding.
"They come from a down slope," he said, "and it's a valley where it's a lot of speed, and it somebody's turning, they try to avoid that."
There have been numerous accidents on Ponce. Zuschlag said he has talked with DeKalb County officials to try and get help the dangerous area.
"The speed limit is there, but people aren't' obeying the speed limit," he said.
As Zuschlag reported, Friday morning's accident was another accident that didn't need to happen.
