Don't want to cook dinner? Here's your excuse: eating out Tuesday night may help improve a young child's life.
It's true. Fifth Group Restaurants is partnering with Camp Horizon, a non-profit that counsels and coaches young children and teens in foster care.
If Camp Horizon gets 50 reservations October 1, the organization will earn 20% of all restaurant food sales for the evening.
You can make a reservation to "Dine Out for Camp Horizon" by phone (404-817-3650) or via Open Table. Organizers say you can also simply show up at the restaurants -- just be sure to mention that you're "Dining Out for Camp Horizon."
Camp Horizon is working to improve the lives of children in state custody with a series of year-round programs designed to empower children, teens and young adults. Children ages 8 through early adulthood participate in summer camps, leadership development programs, outings and mentoring partnerships.
A number of restaurants are included in Fifth Group: South City Kitchen in Midtown & South City Kitchen in Vinings, La Tavola Trattoria, Ecco, The Original El Taco, Alma Cocina, and Lure.
The event is for Tuesday, October 1 only.
