Brookhaven Police Lt. Brandon Gurley said Taylor broke a back window to get into the house on East Brookhaven Drive.
A mother and her two young children were home at the time. They hid in a closet and called police after spotting the man under the bed, Gurley said. The family members were not hurt.
Taylor is being held in the DeKalb County Jail on a burglary charge.
